Documents
Documents are the most common form of evidence. When you upload a client's files to an engagement, Celeredge indexes them so the AI can retrieve relevant passages and cite them in answers.
Who can access
Members of the engagement team.
How it works
- You upload files (PDF, Word, spreadsheets, etc.) to the engagement.
- Each document is indexed — broken into retrievable, searchable passages.
- Once indexing reaches ready, the document's content is available to assessments, signals, and Ask the Data, and any passage used appears as a citation.
Indexing is per engagement, so a document's evidence is scoped to the engagement it was uploaded to.
Step by step
- Open Data & Evidence → Documents in the engagement.
- Upload the client's files.
- Watch the indexing status for each file until it's ready.
- Once ready, run assessments or ask questions — answers will cite these documents.
Best practices
- Upload before assessing. A document that's still indexing can't be retrieved yet.
- Name files clearly. Clear titles make citations easier to recognize and verify.
- Upload the source, not a summary. The AI grounds better on primary material than on someone's notes.
Common errors
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Document not used in answers | Indexing not finished, or finished after the run | Wait for ready, then re-run |
| Upload didn't appear | Transient upload issue | Re-upload; check the file type is supported |
